Agniveer tenure extension cleared: Two more years and a route to regular service

The Union Cabinet has approved a two-year Second Tour of Duty for the 75 percent of Agniveers who were to leave after four years. All willing Agniveers who meet the selection criteria will then be offered enrolment as regular soldiers, and the Agnipath scheme will continue.
