Coast Guard aluminium MoU with Hindalco backs indigenous marine-grade metal for future ships

The Indian Coast Guard has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hindalco Industries at Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi, for the domestic manufacture and supply of marine-grade aluminium for future shipbuilding. The service framed the tie-up as a push for indigenous maritime capabilities, cutting reliance on imported metal for its aluminium-hulled fleet.
