Exercise Pitch Black 2026 opens over the Top End with the IAF among 20 air forces

Exercise Pitch Black 2026 runs from 20 July to 7 August across RAAF Bases Darwin, Tindal and Amberley, with up to 100 jets and more than 2,500 personnel from 20 nations. India is flying aircraft rather than sending observers. Japanese F-35s and Indonesian T-50Is appear at the exercise for the first time.
