Aero India 2027 dates have been fixed for February 8 to 12 at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru, the Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday, ending the wait for a firm schedule after the venue itself was confirmed in early August.

Online registration and booking of exhibition space open on 3 September through a dedicated web portal built for the sixteenth edition. The portal is meant to handle registration and other services for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Aero India 2027 dates lock in a five day run

The Department of Defence Production is organising the event, as it has every edition since Aero India began. The five day run will combine a full exhibition floor with business and strategic engagements, including industry to industry meetings, government to industry sessions, technology demonstrations and partnership talks.

Flying displays remain part of the programme. The Indian Air Force and visiting international teams are set to fly, giving visitors the chance to watch current aviation capability in the air rather than only on a static park.


Asia's largest air show returns to Yelahanka

Aero India has run at the same Bengaluru base every edition since it started in 1996, and the ministry's own framing calls it Asia's largest air show and one of the world's premier aerospace and defence exhibitions. Karnataka's aerospace manufacturing base, built up over three decades, has anchored that run.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat framing for the sixteenth edition

The ministry linked the show to India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat push and to the country's positioning as a reliable partner in the global defence and aerospace supply chain. Domestic defence production crossed Rs 1.78 lakh crore in the last financial year, a run of growth Aero India editions have put in front of visiting delegations at their conclaves and pavilions.

MSMEs and start ups get a specific mention this time. The ministry said the sixteenth edition will open avenues for partnerships, investments, exports and technology collaboration for smaller Indian defence firms alongside the established players it usually draws.

Registration opens six months before the gates do

Exhibitor sign ups begin more than five months out. The Department of Defence Production has not yet detailed pricing tiers or space allocation rules on the new portal.

A dates confirmation follows the venue call

The Indian Air Force's Training Command had already confirmed the Yelahanka venue in a call on the Karnataka Chief Minister in early August, closing off speculation about a possible shift to another city. Wednesday's release supplies the schedule that briefing left open.

The Department of Defence Production oversees the wider defence public sector portfolio as well as the airshow, and has used recent weeks to publicise indigenisation milestones across the sector.

Ticket pricing for the public days was not part of Wednesday's Aero India 2027 dates announcement.
