CDS General Anil Chauhan, tri-service chiefs, and DRDO chairman attend closed-door session in New Delhi

New Delhi, March 24: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday convened a high-level meeting at South Block to review the operational readiness of India’s armed forces, bringing together the country’s top military brass amid a closely watched global security environment.

The meeting saw the presence of Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, the Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force, and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Chairman Dr Samir V. Kamat, along with other senior defence officials.

Each of the three service chiefs made detailed presentations during the session, covering the current state of preparedness across their respective commands.

The review comes at a time when India is keeping a close watch on unfolding developments in West Asia and other sensitive regions. The government has so far maintained a measured and calibrated stance in response to the evolving situation.

The meeting was held behind closed doors and the Defence Ministry did not issue any official statement following the session.

Such high-level reviews are part of the government’s established practice of periodically assessing defence readiness and ensuring the armed forces remain in a state of full operational preparedness.
