CNS Auckland Maori Welcome Opens Navy Chief's New Zealand Visit

Adm Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of the Naval Staff, was received with a traditional Maori Powhiri at Te Taua Moana Marae and a Guard of Honour at HMNZS Philomel as his New Zealand visit opened in Auckland on Monday. The ceremony was framed by the turret of HMNZS Achilles, the cruiser that later served the Indian Navy as INS Delhi, and follows his Canberra talks on the Australia leg of the same visit.
