Department of Military Medicine Opens at Command Hospital Lucknow

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the Department of Military Medicine at Command Hospital (Central Command), Lucknow on 29 July 2026. Raised under the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army), it is the country's first department dedicated solely to military medicine, and will run academic programmes, doctrinal research and Centres of Excellence in HADR and CBRNe medicine.
